Third-party licenses
PlumeTeX compiles your documents entirely in your browser thanks to free software. Here are their licenses and where to find their source code.
LaTeX engine: TeX Live 2023 compiled to WebAssembly by BusyTeX
The engine files (busytex.wasm, busytex.js, bundles/*.bin archives) contain
pdfTeX, XeTeX, LuaTeX, BibTeX and TeX Live 2023 packages. Their content is redistributed unmodified: the TeX Live
files are only grouped into per-package archives, downloaded on demand (tools/split-engine.mjs in the
PlumeTeX repository). Each component keeps its own free license, mainly:
- GNU GPL version 2 or later (pdfTeX, LuaTeX…): full text
- GNU GPL version 3: full text
- LaTeX Project Public License 1.3c (LaTeX packages): full text
- Details of all TeX Live licenses: tug.org/texlive/copying.html

Packages added to the BusyTeX catalog (babel languages, cm-super, pgf/TikZ, pgfplots, biblatex, fonts…, list in
tools/split-engine.mjs): TeX Live 2023 archives redistributed unmodified, each under its own license (LPPL, GPL, OFL…): TeX Live 2023 tlnet-final archive
The BusyTeX scripts are under the MIT license, according to its repository README (which has no LICENSE file). The
PlumeTeX worker (engine-worker.js) reuses part of busytex_worker.js.
